Click a strip to jump the EEG to that moment. Drag across to zoom into a time range; ↻ returns to the whole recording. Right-click (or ☰) chooses which derivations are stacked. + / − on the colour bar sets the amplitude scale.

ⓘ
Right-click on the signal to create an annotation. Click on an annotation to jump to that time. Hover over user annotations to edit or delete.
Channels
ⓘ
Select which intracranial electrode groups to display. Drag and drop to reorder groups. The number in parentheses shows the channel count for each group. Right-click any channel label on the trace to hide that channel; hidden channels are listed below and can be restored.
Click one electrode, then a second — that becomes a derivation, e.g. Fp1-F7. Clicking the first one again cancels it.
Keep going to add more. They are drawn top to bottom in the order listed — drag ⠿ to reorder, × to remove.
+ Group Break puts a gap between chains, the way a standard montage separates temporal from parasagittal.
Give it a name and Save. It joins the montage list in the header, and its pairs become available in the DSA Channels picker.
Load an EDF file to see available electrodes.
No pairs yet — click two electrodes above to make one.

Navigation
Scroll — move by one full page
← / → and Page Up / Page Down — move by one full page; set either to one second at a time in Settings → Navigation
↑ / ↓ — increase / decrease sensitivity
Drag the signals left or right to scroll freely
On touch devices, drag left/right to scroll, or tap the left/right edge of the screen to page back/forward
Click a channel's name to highlight its signal and label; click it again to clear it. On intracranial files with electrode labels, clicking an electrode highlights all of its channels
Turn on Settings → Channels → Highlight multiple channels to keep several highlighted at once — each click on a name, or on a contact in the 3D brain, then adds or removes one
Ctrl+click a name (Cmd+click on a Mac) to add or remove just that one, without the setting
Shift+click a name to highlight every channel between it and the last one you clicked; Ctrl+Shift+click adds that range to what is already highlighted
Right-click any name and choose Hide N highlighted channels to hide everything highlighted at once; Show all hidden in the same menu brings them back
Esc — clear all highlights
Turn on Settings → Channels → Click trace to highlight to highlight by clicking the signal itself
Marker
Right-click the line to put it away, or use Settings → Appearance → Show marker
Annotations
Right-click anywhere on the signal to add an annotation at that time
Click an annotation in the sidebar to jump to that point in the recording
Hover over your own annotations to edit or delete them
Use the Annotations button to show or hide the sidebar
Channel Groups
For intracranial recordings, click Channels to open the panel
Check or uncheck a group to show or hide those channels
Drag groups to reorder them
The number in parentheses shows how many channels are in each group
Density Spectral Array (DSA)
Turn it on from Settings → Tools → Density Spectral Array; it docks below the EEG
Click anywhere on a strip to jump the EEG to that moment
Drag across the strips to zoom into a time range, then Full to go back
Right-click the DSA, or use Channels, to pick which derivations are stacked (up to 4)
Tick Add mirrored pair in that picker and choosing F3-C3 also adds F4-C4, so left and right sit together for comparison
+ / − on the colour bar raise and lower the amplitude scale; stepping onto Auto returns to auto-scaling
Frequency Tools
All of them live under Tools in the Settings panel
Frequency spectrum — select a region — click to arm, then drag across one channel to spectrum just that stretch
Frequency spectrum — current view — select a channel by clicking it, then get amplitude by frequency across the visible window for that channel, with EEG bands marked
Density Spectral Array — the whole recording as stacked frequency strips docked below the EEG; click a flame to jump there, right-click to choose derivations
Clipping & Saving
Clip — page to where the clip should begin and choose Mark clip start, then page to the end and choose Mark clip end. The menu shows both marked times; Clear marks removes them
Save — save the current page or the marked clip, either to the server or as a download
Highlighting
Click a channel's name to highlight it and mark it in the brain; click it again to clear it. Esc clears all highlights
With Group Channels ticked, clicking an electrode name highlights the whole electrode, shown in the brain as a tube
Click a contact in the brain to highlight its traces — the whole electrode while Group Channels is ticked
Settings → Channels → Highlight multiple channels keeps several highlighted at once; each click on a name or in the brain adds or removes one. Each gets its own colour, shared by its trace, its label and its mark in the brain
Ctrl+click a name (Cmd+click on a Mac) adds or removes one without that setting. Shift+click a name highlights everything between it and the last name clicked — whole electrodes while Group Channels is ticked; Ctrl+Shift+click adds the range instead of replacing
Each electrode has its own colour: its contacts in the brain and its name beside the traces both wear it, and highlighting any of its channels uses it too, so a trace can be matched to its shaft at a glance. The colours are RAVE's own (its LabelPrefix view); tick Legend to see which colour is which electrode
Settings → Channels → Click trace to highlight lets you click the signal itself
Channel Labels
Group Channels (in the header) shows one label per electrode; untick it for one label per channel
Right-click a name to switch between grouped and individual channels, or to hide a channel
The same menu hides everything highlighted at once — whole electrodes while Group Channels is ticked, which then come back from the Channels panel
Viewing the Brain
Drag to rotate; scroll or + / − to zoom; drag the panel's left edge to resize it
The dropdown in the brain header picks how electrodes inside the brain are shown:
Brain draws a solid brain as normal;
Transparent fades the hemispheres to 50% and clips their mesh to 0.4 so depth contacts show through;
Superimposed keeps the brain solid and draws the electrodes over it at full strength - near and far contacts then look the same
The slice dropdown shows an MRI slice through the brain - Coronal, Axial or Sagittal. The slider beside it moves the slice: posterior to anterior (P–A), inferior to superior (I–S) or left to right (L–R), in mm from the centre
